With this blog, it is the hope and intention that George Mason’s Communication majors will be more informed about internship opportunities.
Internships offer an authentic experience in the working community for students in their major.
Please use the sources available to learn more about internships from professors, alumni, and current students.
Enjoy and thank you!

Meet the Authors:
Evan Milberg, a 21-year-old Communication major at George Mason University, is excited to have worked on a project about Communication internships despite not being able to get one himself. With a voice for TV and a face for radio, Evan hopes to one day go into some form of media production. After receiving his B.A. in 2011, Evan will be pursuing a Master’s Degree, hopefully at George Mason University as well.
Naomi Blank is majoring in English with a concentration in Nonfiction Writing and Editing and has two minors, Electronic Journalism and Art History. She interns for George Mason’s Hillel program and her duties include running a bi-monthly book club, which they sponsor. She’s written multiple book reviews and articles for George Mason’s student newspaper, Broadside and is looking to pursue a career as a writer.
Brenda Shepard is a junior, Communication major concentrating in journalism. She has minors in both Global Affairs and Conflict Analysis and Resolution. Brenda is a staff writer for George Mason’s student newspaper, “Broadside,” and has been an active Mason Ambassador for three years.
Bob Sharpe is a sophomore majoring in Government and International Politics at George Mason University. He is minoring in Electronic Journalism and also hopes to minor in Sports Management. He is originally from Cherry Hill, New Jersey just outside of Philadelphia. His interests include history, politics, and sports. What he hopes to take from this class and project is further development of his journalistic skills along with learning new techniques specifically for writing and publishing online.
